Qwest Field

Qwest Field (800 Occidental Ave) is an astounding stadium in beautiful downtown Seattle. Although it's famous for being the home of the Seattle Seahawks, Qwest Field is much more than a football stadium. It hosts spectacular concerts, trade shows, public events, and even soccer!

With seating for up to 72,000 people for special events, and 67,000 for football games, Qwest Field is a venue for a wide array of talent. From rock stars to country singers, Qwest Field is the place to host major concerts in the Seattle area.

Qwest Field is only about a mile away from the bustling business district, so there are spectacular views of downtown. The modern facility is near several freeways and is readily accessible through any means of mass transit.

From the air, Qwest Field looks like a jewel in the Emerald City. The glistening steel design was created in part by the Seahawks' owner Paul Allen. Turner Construction Company broke ground on the $430 million complex in April 2000 and finished the stadium a little over two years later. The construction project was funded by municipal funds approved by a statewide election held in 1997. Originally called the Seahawks Stadium, Qwest acquired naming rights in 2004 and thus Qwest Field was reborn.

It has a special event center, the famous WaMu Theater, a multi-level parking garage and a huge public plaza. Roughly 70% of the seats are under overhangs, so the stadium makes a great summer concert venue in any weather.

If you find yourself traveling to Qwest Field for a spectacular concert or sporting event, be sure to check out some of Seattle's other famous attractions. See the Wright Brothers' first primitive glider at the Museum of Flight. Smell fish in the air at the well-known Pike Place Market downtown. Or climb 520 feet at the Space Needle to see the view of downtown, including marvelous Qwest Field.
