Safeco Field

Located in beautiful downtown Seattle Washington and home to the Seattle Mariners Professional Baseball Team is Safeco Field. This beautiful modern facility replaced the aging Kingdome in 1999 and has a retractable roof and a beautiful view of the city skyline.

Nearby attractions to Safeco Field include the Seattle Aquarium where you can stand in a dome with fish swimming through windows above you, view and learn about some odd fish that are found underwater, enjoy a specialized area which features fish native to Washington State, and view an exhibit dedicated to the Orca. Also nearby is the famous Pike Place Market where you can shop and dine in the many eclectic shops and restaurants, and watch the "flying fish" at the seafood shop. On your trip to Safeco Field, consider a visit to Pioneer Square which is where Seattle began. Here you can tour the underground and the many other historic sites in the district. You can also catch a ferry boat that will take you to other parts of the Puget Sound area from the piers, which are within walking distance. Since it is a baseball stadium, you can also buy tickets and watch the Seattle Mariners play opposing American League teams.

The area around Safeco Field, known as Sodo, is also home to many fine eating establishments. Not only are there many dining opportunities in Safeco field for game time enjoyment, but also there are many nearby such as the Hit it Here Cafe and Terrace where you can enjoy burgers and barbecue and Pyramid Breweries where you can enjoy burgers and brew in a pub atmosphere. These restaurants are both in the shadow of Safeco. Also nearby are several coffee shops, such as Tully's Coffee, Starbucks Coffee, and Zeitgeist Coffee. For a unique dining experience, consider stopping in for a meal at the 88 keys Dueling Pianos and Sports Bar in Pioneer Square where you can live music with your meal any time of day.
